Typography Bible Verse

In this assignment, we needed to each select a bible verse that meant something to us and create a popster showcasing that verse in a creative way. I chose this verse, John 16:33 because it reminds me that I can overcome anything thanks to God. Whether you are into bible verses or not, I enjoyed playing with the words, creating a picture with the words. I knew I wanted to create a big O for overcome to resemble the world or a globe with the rest of the letters rising above the O to show the meaning of rising up and overcoming with bold thick type. In addition, the words "the world" labeling the world across the O. I also knew that I wanted "trouble" to be different, darker, and going down to emphasize life dragging you down. A few words are lightly colored to point out some of the the most important words. On the side, I really liked combining one serif typeface with two sans serif typefaces.Typefaces used are Avenir Next, Baskerville, and Gill Sans. Overall, its a nice poster and I'm proud of it! The use of negative space os one of my favorite parts of the poster!
